— THE CAMPAIGN —
Shark Culling Impact Tracker
The Queensland Government’s Shark Control Program has been killing marine wildlife with nets and drumlines since 1962 in a misguided effort to protect people from the risk of shark bite.
Their deaths matter, and now we’re keeping count.
Since 2001…
402 whales/dolphins
834 turtles
1726 rays
12,290 sharks
…have been caught on nets and drumlines in Queensland.
About half of the shark species caught pose very little risk to humans.
Even if an animal is released, it may not survive. Every animal caught or tangled suffers.
Tell Queensland to end this senseless killing.
